We received a number of emails from residents who have been watching the construction of the dog park in the Kanata North Hydro Corridor, just off Whernside Terrace. In case you were counting, that project started 7 years ago. It has been frustrating, to say the least. However, it is going to be lovely. The only challenge now is waiting for the grass to grow and its root system to be established enough to withstand the dog traffic! We were hoping to see it in use sooner, but we may have to just look at the park until next spring. By then the grass should be thick enough to have it formally opened for use. We will keep you updated regarding when it will be opened.
We are working with staff to make sure the signage at the dog park is clear on these timelines. Here is a photo of what things look like now.
