Sharing information our team received from the City of Ottawa staff:
Sue Nickerson Park: Lifecycle renewal of the pathways within the park is set to commence mid-July. We can anticipate the crew actively working on site at that park for 4-5 weeks, wrapping up by the end of August. Please see the below concept plan for reference. They plan to stage the work in two phases:
- Phase one; the southwest half including the playground area, with construction access (closed to public) from the Sherk Crescent park entrance. The play structure will not be accessible during this phase.
- Phase two; the north east half, with construction access (closed to public) from the Tanner Crescent park entrance. It should be assumed that the play structure will remain closed during this phase, however staff will monitor conditions to determine if it is feasible and safe to reopen it sooner.
Clearpath Park is a new park, now under construction at 8415 Campeau – in Arcadia. Play/fitness structures are scheduled to arrive in August and park opening anticipated in the fall.
Eureka Park, (working name Brookline Neighbourhood Park) is now under construction. This is a new park at the intersection of Vibert Douglas and Invention Boulevard in Kanata North. The play structure is to arrive in September and the park should be open to the public late fall. The sports field will require another growing season before being available for play.
We will provide further updates as they become available.
