Our team has received an update on the Pathway Lighting Replacement Project at Insmill Park that we wanted to share with the community.
Scope of work:
- To remove the existing 23 metal light poles and to install 39 new concrete light poles (6.1m/20 ft height) to meet the City’s current Pathway Lighting Policy standards. The new concrete poles will be resistant to the corrosion that the existing poles have deteriorated to.
- No asphalt pathway replacement is included is the scope of this work.
- The old lighting will only be shut off and removed once the new lighting is tested and working correctly.
Schedule:
- We’re expecting the poles to be manufactured and ready for end of October. The contractor is planning to mobilize to site the week of October 15th.
- The Final Completion due date is June 2026, though if we continue to have favorable weather, we could see most of the work completed by end of December 2025. Depending on the pace and progress and the weather in early winter, we may keep working into January, if needed. Otherwise, it is possible we will pause for the winter and compete the final site works, along with softscape reinstatements in spring 2026.
A Notice of Construction Activities letter will be distributed to residents that live in the vicinity of the park.
We’ll share further updates as they become available.
