The City of Ottawa manages its tree canopy through a comprehensive, long-term strategy outlined in its Urban Forest Management Plan. This plan sets a 20-year vision for a healthy, diverse, and resilient urban forest and is implemented in phases to guide planting, protection, and maintenance efforts. In September City staff shared the Tree Equity Score Analysis and Results. Ottawa’s tree equity score analysis, including the methods used, key results, and next steps are intended to build on the results of the 2022 Tree Canopy Analysis.
