At the first meeting of the Brookside Briarbrook Morgan’s Grant Community Association that I went to a few years ago, I was asked about when our much-loved path across the rail line was going to be reinstated. With the generous Eco-gift by Canderel earlier this year, that reinstatement became possible. Now, the community will be able to come to an information session/consultation on the design.

The online public information session will be held virtually on Tuesday, December 9 at 7 p.m. to present background information and the proposed design for the project. Participants will be able to ask questions. Public feedback will be accepted until January 23, 2026. Comments and questions can be sent to the project manager, Mazen Shuhaibar (mazen.shuhaibar@ottawa.ca), in Active Transportation Planning. Residents can register for the event at this link.

Residents can learn more about the project at Beaverbrook – Kanata North Multi-Use Pathway Rail Crossing | City of Ottawa.
