In September, Mayor Sutcliffe announced Ottawa’s new Housing Action Plan. This new plan looks to address the specific housing challenges facing the city, while taking a comprehensive and balanced approach to all elements of city-building.
To support this goal, the Action Plan brings together a wide range of initiatives that significantly reshape the City’s housing strategy. Key actions include a comprehensive overhaul of the City’s Zoning By-law, the allocation of historic levels of public funding to support affordable housing, the planning of future communities such as Tewin and other new development areas, along with various ongoing efforts.
Moreover, the Housing Action Plan goes even further. At its heart is the City’s new Housing Acceleration Plan, which serves as the foundation for accelerating and streamlining housing delivery across Ottawa.
