With the Province’s removal of the speed cameras, at our regular traffic calming meeting with our City traffic engineers this week, we looked at what we can do to ensure that more traffic calming measures are in place in our school zones and other problematic areas. All year long we keep track of resident feedback regarding areas where traffic calming could be helpful. If you have a moment now, though, and want to remind us of any areas where you feel traffic calming would be helpful, please let us know. Options include the following:

  • Speed boards
  • Flex stakes
  • Speed cushions (smaller speed bumps)
  • Pedestrian cross walks
  • Painted speed markings/painted speed zone marking on roads

City staff give us their recommendations and we give them ours. Please let us know what streets you think need to be considered/studied.
