With the City of Ottawa Municipal Elections taking place this fall, with Voting Day on October 26, 2026, I want to make residents aware of an important change to the Kanata North Community Newsletter.

Beginning Thursday, August 27, the City’s Election-Related Blackout Period Procedures will come into effect. Under the City of Ottawa’s Election-Related Resources Policy and Election-Related Blackout Period Procedures, Members of Council are prohibited from publishing or distributing newsletters, flyers, advertisements, mailouts, and community newspaper or blog columns during the blackout period.

As a result, this will be the final edition of the Kanata North Community Newsletter published before the municipal election. Regular newsletter communications will not be published during the election-related blackout period.

Residents can continue to find City information and updates through City of Ottawa communications.

For information about the upcoming municipal election, including voting dates, eligibility, registration and other important details, please visit the City of Ottawa Elections webpage.
