The City of Ottawa wants your input on the projects, policies, programs, and services that affect your daily life. From open houses to workshops and online engagement opportunities, your feedback helps to shape City decisions.

Current engagement opportunities include:

  • Private Approach By-law Review: The City of Ottawa is conducting a review and update of the Private Approach By-law (2003-447), which regulates the construction, use and maintenance of private approaches in the city. A private approach is the part of a vehicle access to private property that is on the City’s right of way (i.e. the portion of a driveway that is on City property). Existing rules for driveways and permits can be found on ottawa.ca/driveways.
  • Beaverbrook Heritage Conservation District Feasibility Assessment: The City of Ottawa is conducting a Heritage Conservation District Feasibility Assessment for Beaverbrook. The purpose of the feasibility assessment is to determine next steps for conserving Beaverbrook’s history.
  • Vulnerable Social Infrastructure By-law Review: The City of Ottawa is considering regulations to provide for safe access to vulnerable social infrastructure like places of worship and religious centres, community centres, schools, daycares, and care homes.
  • 10-Year Housing and Homelessness Plan Refresh: Ottawa is a vibrant and growing city, with many people choosing to live, work and play here. However, access to safe and affordable housing remains a critical issue. Many residents who live on low and moderate incomes face challenges in finding housing that meets their needs.
