Sharing the latest 2-week look ahead update for the Earl Grey Drive project:
Construction
Anticipated construction activities over the next 2 weeks starting June 8th week
- Stage 4 traffic remains in place along Terry Fox Drive, Lane closures for Terry Fox commenced June 1st.
- Continue and complete the storm sewer works along Didsbury Road (east) into Terry Fox Drive.
- Complete watermain adjustment on Terry Fox Drive SBL near Didsbury.
- Continue watermain works along Didsbury Road (east).
- Continue Temporary Traffic Signals Adjustments at Terry Fox and Didsbury intersection.
- Continue Terry Fox south side stage 1 foundation works.
Traffic
The following are the current and upcoming traffic impacts for your community.
Lane Closures
Anticipated lane closures over the next 2 weeks, continuing the week of June 8th:
- Stage 4 traffic configuration along Terry Fox Drive – two North-bound lanes open, two South-bound lanes open traffic between approximately Campeau Drive to Hwy 417 WBL exits will recommence the June 15th week.
- Terry Fox Lane Closures – One lane each direction commenced June 1st for approximately 2 weeks. Turning movement restrictions at the Intersection Didsbury EB left turn to Terry Fox NB from June 1st to June 8th. Turning movement restriction Terry Fox SB to Roland Michener EB from June 1st to June 15th. Minor adjustments to traffic signals phasing timing throughout the area being undertaken as required by City Traffic Operations.
- Roland Michener – 1 EB Left Turn Lane closed to Terry Fox SB from June 1st to June 15th.
- Encroachment/flagging as necessary, along Didsbury Road East
- Note: upcoming July 6th roadway closure for Didsbury Road East at Terry Fox Drive, targeting approximately a 6-week closure.
Pedestrian Detours
- No impacts anticipated, north-bound cyclists and pedestrians along Terry Fox Drive are detoured to the temporary multi-use pathway along the East side of Terry Fox Drive. Commenced on June 1st throughout the Summer the crosswalks will be closed at Didsbury/Roland Michener at the Terry Fox intersection to the westerly side of Terry Fox Drive, easterly N/S crosswalk to remain open.
OC Transpo Detours
- No route impacts anticipated. Temporary Bus Stops applied by OC Transpo along Terry Fox where necessary. Both current bus stops were temporarily relocated slightly northerly commenced June 1st.
Other
- Access to residents and business are being maintained. Note: Access to businesses along Didsbury Road east will be detoured during the July 6th roadway closure for approximately 6 weeks.
- Proposed evening short-term water service disruption to civic #500 Terry Fox Drive during week of June 8th.
- Ongoing discussions with the BIA
