Our team received the following 2 week look ahead update for the Earl Grey Underpass project:
Construction
Anticipated construction activities over the next 2 weeks starting November 9th week
- Stage 4 traffic in place along Terry Fox
- Continue installation of shoring system for Terry Fox underpass along westerly side of Terry Fox Drive
- Deactivation of existing 600mm watermain along a portion of Terry Fox Drive and Didsbury Road (east)
- Hydro connection works easterly side of Terry Fox Drive (off-road).
Traffic
The following are the current and upcoming traffic impacts for your community.
Lane Closures
Anticipated lane closures over the next 2 weeks, continuing the week of November 9th:
- Implement Stage 4 traffic configuration – two North-bound lanes open, two South-bound lane open traffic between approximately Campeau Drive to Hwy 417 WBL exits i.e., no lane closures
- One south-bound lane closure along Terry Fox Drive approaching Campeau planned November 17th depending on weather.
- Encroachment/flagging along Didsbury Road (east) daytime works.
Pedestrian Detours
- No impacts anticipated, north-bound cyclists and pedestrians along Terry Fox Drive are detoured to the temporary multi-use pathway along the East side of Terry Fox Drive.
OC Transpo Detours
- No route impacts anticipated. Temporary Bus Stops applied by OC Transpo along Terry Fox where necessary.
Other
- Access to residents and business are being maintained
- PVMS signs in place
- Ongoing discussions with the BIA
