Hello Kanata North,
I wanted to share a few more updates regarding the City’s response to the severe weather event on Canada Day. Last night, I stopped by the Community Information Session at the John Mlacak Centre, where staff from several City departments were on hand to answer questions and connect residents with available programs, resources, and supports. Many residents attended to speak directly with staff about their situations. I was pleased to see so many residents able to get the information and assistance they needed. A huge thank you to City staff who are working around the clock to help manage this very difficult situation for so many.
I have included some important information on waste collection including that storm-related waste is still being collected by separate garbage trucks, not regular waste collection trucks in Kanata North so please leave all waste at the curb as it will be collected as the trucks continue to circulate.
I have also included the link to the memo that was sent out by City staff about the storm that includes some information on the amount of rainfall we experienced. Residents should be sure to read the full memo.
The last thing I have included here is some information shared with us from the Insurance Bureau of Canada which I hope residents find helpful.
