Thank you, Kanata North!

I am so honoured to have been re-elected to represent all of you for the next four years! Thank you so much for getting out to the polls and for helping me build the platform that resonated with so many voters. It isn’t possible for me to do this job properly without knowing what you think, how you feel, and what you want from your municipal government.

Throughout this election, as I listened to so many of the candidates all over the city for all of the various positions and roles, I was struck by the difference between candidates who understood what it is to represent others and those who pushed their own agendas. I hope you see these next four years, with me as your City Councillor, as an ongoing opportunity to help me understand what you think, how you feel and what you want. As many Kanata North residents know, the best way for me to communicate with you and to hear from you is through this bi-weekly newsletter. We heard over and over again at the doors how much people were missing it. All of us in the Kanata North office were, too!

As councillors and staff transition to the new term, there are training sessions and all kinds of transitional events and activities we all have to attend. I have outlined a few things below that will set expectations for the next few weeks. However, you will get my next newsletter this Friday! Watch out, it is a long one. A lot happened during the election blackout period. There was a lot to cover!

Again, Kanata North, thank you for re-electing me to this important role. I will do my best. You can be sure of that.

Cathy
