Update from Councillor Cathy Curry
Duty of Care – I had a great conversation with a resident over my comments about the “Duty of Care” that is expected from the City of Ottawa and its elected officials. I have included some information on that on the Kanata North website.
Mercury Contamination – I have had residents asking me about whether I am getting answers to the questions I asked in my two official inquiries. City staff worked hard to get the answers to the first one done quickly. The questions and the answers can be read at Kanata Lakes Golf Course Lands Inquiry 1. At the Planning and Housing Committee this week, there was an opportunity to get additional clarification. You can watch that section of the meeting at this link. The item begins at 21:30 on the stream.
Buried Fire Hydrants – I have had residents reach out to let me know about fire hydrants that were buried by the snow plows. Staff went out quickly to dig them out. Thank you to those of you who take the time to let us know about these types of things.
Beaverbrook Heritage Study – I had a number of residents reach out and ask about the heritage study of Beaverbrook. More information on this study can be found at Beaverbrook Heritage Conservation District Feasibility Assessment | Engage Ottawa.
