Update from Councillor Cathy Curry

Unauthorized golfing– We have recently heard from a number of residents about golfers continuing to access the Kanata Lakes Golf Course lands. It’s important to note that these lands are private property, and at this time, golfers are not permitted to use the course. Unauthorized use of the property also raises safety concerns for residents who back onto the course or are walking near where errant golf balls may land. We would not want to see anyone get injured. Please make sure your family members are all aware of this danger.

Potholes– Please continue to reach out to our office or report potholes online by phoning 311. City crews continue with potholes repair throughout the summer, so please continue to call them in.

Dogs On-Leash/Off-Leash Rules – I have had a few people reach out to complain about dogs off leash in areas where they are to be leashed. Please be sure to find out ahead of time where your dog has to be on leash or can be let off leash. Soon the dog park in the Hydro Corridor will be open (just waiting for the grass to get thick enough). Until then, please appreciate that our parks and pathways are for all users. Some are terrified of dogs. Others have dogs who are afraid of or aggressive towards other dogs. Others like dogs but do not want to have dogs running at them or jumping on them. You can find out which rules apply to which areas of Kanata North at this link.
